5th Grade Science Extravaganza

  

On Friday, May 4, the fifth grade science students had a "Science Extravaganza!"  Mr. Bartkowski's father came in to treat the kids to some exciting (and some edible!) science experiments.  During the Extravaganza, Mr. Bartkowski and his father both laid on a bed of nails.  The students also watched liquid nitrogen being used and ice cream being made.  As you can see from the pictures, the students had a great time!!!!

Battle of the Books Competition

On Thursday, April 5, Northridge Intermediate held a building-wide Battle of the Books competition.  The top 4 teams from this competition will move on to the school versus school competition on May 15, 2012.  The Northridge vs. Johnstown battle will be held in Johnstown this year at 6:30p.m.  Congratulations to Team Olivia, Team Sam, Team Mandy and Team Sydney!

Help Support our School

Northridge Intermediate has joined the My Coke Rewards for Schools Program.  That means by drinking Coca-Cola products, you can get Coke Rewards points and donate them to help our school.  Your donations will go towards school supplies and recess equipment.  To donate click on the link below or simply send the box codes, bottle caps or McDonald's stickers to the school.  Thanks for your help!

Northridge Intermediate Students were treated to a concert by members of the Newark-Granville Symphony Orchestra on Friday, December 16.   The ensemble played various Christmas selections using a tuba, a trumpet, a trombone and a drumset.  The students really enjoyed the performance and even got to sing along to some of the songs.  A BIG thank you to the Boeing Corporation for sponsoring this concert!!!

Mr. Scrooge

On Thursday, December 16, the students at Northridge Intermediate took a fieldtrip to the Primary school to watch a Columbus Children's Theatre performance of "Mr. Scrooge."  Thank you to the Northridge PTO for sponsoring this assembly.

Walk-A-Thon Prize Assembly

On Tuesday, November 22 Northridge Intermediate held the annual PTO Walk-a-thon Prize Assembly.  Those students who raised over $100 were awarded with prizes at this assembly.  Thank you to all of the students who raised money for our school!!!

Cyber-Bullying Presentation

On Monday, November 21, Deputy Nick from the Licking County Sheriff's Office came to our school to talk to the students about cyber-bullying.  Deputy Nick explained the various kinds of cyber-bullying and told the students what to do if they feel they are being bullied.  Thank you Deputy Nick for coming!

Intermediate Walk-A-Thon

On Friday, October 28 the Intermediate students enjoyed participating in our annual Walk-a-thon.  Students walked 2 1/2 miles and had a great time doing so!  If you have not yet turned in your money please do so as soon as possible.

PRIDE Assembly

Northridge Intermediate School students recently attended the PRIDE Assembly for the 1st Nine Weeks.  At this assembly, every student was recognized in front of their entire grade.  Mrs. Knopp presented them with a PRIDE ticket that had been earned during the 1st Nine Weeks.  Congratulations to all fourth and fifth grade students who earned PRIDE tickets!!!

Personal Choices and You

On Thursday, October 13, Northridge Intermediate School watched a show performed by Mark Wade (a ventriloquist) that addressed making good "Personal Choices."  Mr. Wade talked to the students about bullying, having a good inner compass and showing respect.  Thank you to the Northridge PTO for sponsoring this show!
